Week 45 Edition 29
Was Going to do a Giving Festival
I was going to run a fundraiser to raise money for charity this Christmas, but mum warned me people might have “fundraising fatigue”. Oh well. If you do plan to support a charity, let me know!
Donald Trump being elected is very bad
I hope that people in Australia are more willing to debate who is a good candidate and what is good policy than those in America were.
And even if Trump comes out not being bad, I’ve yet to hear a compelling argument why we can say now that he will not come out bad.
Stopped Hellofresh
I’d actually been using it for about six weeks when I posted about it. I have enough recipes now to have some variety.
Next Trip to Melbourne
I’m going to Melbourne next weekend (18th)! I will try to catch up with people I haven’t seen for a while, but please get in contact with me so we can organise times. I will be visiting my old English teacher on Friday, so let me know if you want to come.
I’ve been discussing with people on Facebook
Facebook has become a place for me to discuss these important issues.
What I’ve Been Reading/Watching/Hearing:
- Julia Galef and Rob Wiblin’s post (Facebook post) – about how we didn’t get it wrong, voting for Trump was stupid.
- John Mainland’s post (Facebook, may be private) – an idea about how we need to favour social equality way more than improve the world for everyone. And we need more “comfortable” policies.
- New England (song) – An upbeat song about New England!
- Bear (song) – Wonderful song about… just listen to it.
