Fly to Queensland?
I’m trying to decide what to do on ANZAC Holiday. Right now a few options:
- Stay in Sydney, be with people
- Go back to Melbourne, be with people
- Find the cheapest ticket to anywhere and fly there for a weekend
I’m leaning towards the last at the moment.
New shirts
I’ve figured out that the correct size for my shirts from Charles Tyrwhitt is “Very Slim Fit”. I was so offended when I found out.
Miss Peaches
I went to a “Soul Food” restaurant called Miss Peaches. I had bacon covered meatloaf (eh) and fried chicken (yum!). We then went to two bars in Newtown, one which was in an old butcher’s place and still had the exterior of a butcher. The second was a bar with a cool garden. I also tried to play pinball and jeez that game is hard.

This Awesome Event My Friends are Doing
This Wednesday my friends are organising an event for people interested in jobs where they’re using their degree to make the world better. It’s also got panelists from World Vision, The World Bank, Impact Investing Australia, HoMie and NAB!! Tell your University of Melbourne-based friends.
Why are all the violists waiting outside?
I lost my housekey temporarily, and because my roommates had late shifts I ended up having to wait outside for about 2 hours. Haha!
(Why are all the violists outside? Because they can’t find the key and they don’t know when to come in!)
What Am I Reading/Watching/Listening:
- Baseball Batman vs Superannuationman: Chief Justice Dawn (film): I quite enjoyed the movie! Had plot holes and characters weren’t exciting, but I don’t think it was any worse than say Guardians of the Galaxy. Ben Affleck was a cool Batman.
- Beautiful Stories from Anonymous People (podcast): A great podcast I’ve discovered where the host talks to whoever calls his number, and can’t hang up for 60 minutes. The stories get very honest and open very quickly.
- Payday Lenders – Freakonomics (podcast): Some lenders are charging huge interest rates to those who are cash-poor lenders. It’s a huge problem in Australia as much as America… but is it actually helping people?
